From April 1st to 10th, 2021, the "Meet in Beijing" winter sports series of ice events were held in the Beijing competition area.

During the test event, organized by the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, the project "Key Technologies for Smart Medical Support at the Winter Olympics," a special project of the National Key R&D Plan for Science and Technology Winter Olympics in 2020, led by Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University and participated by Beijing Futong Dongfang Technology Co., Ltd., China United Network Communications Co., Ltd., Beijing Red Cross Emergency Rescue Center, and 15 other units, conducted a test application of the project's research results at the Medical Command Center of the Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, successfully completing the safety guarantee of medical treatment at the venue.

The "Key Technologies for Smart Medical Support at the Winter Olympics" project is one of the national key research and development plans for the Science and Technology Winter Olympics, approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology. It mainly includes systems and platforms such as an emergency smart rescue platform based on 5G and rescue single-soldier equipment, a sports injury auxiliary diagnosis system, an intelligent expert recommendation system, and a smart scheduling platform. The aim is to use the power of science and technology such as artificial intelligence and big data to support the smart medical services for the Winter Olympics and to ensure the safety of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

Winter Olympics Organizing Committee Medical Command Center Medical Support Drill

On April 3rd, Debin Yu, Director of the Sports Services Department of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, Shiming Qi, Head of the Medical and Health Department, Hongmin Liu, Deputy Head of the Medical and Health Department, and Haiyang Liu, Chief of the Medical and Health Department, along with other leaders and experts, watched the men's ice hockey match and the on-site medical support drill held at the National Stadium from the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee Medical Command Center.

During this test event, when an athlete suffered an injury during the competition and required emergency treatment and transportation, the project "Key Technologies for Smart Medical Support at the Winter Olympics" played a significant role. On one hand, the "5G Emergency Rescue Platform" connected the command center with the competition site at the National Stadium, enabling rapid flow and transmission of information. On the other hand, the "Sports Injury Auxiliary Diagnosis System" quickly located the injury site through sports injury knowledge graph searches, taking into full consideration the characteristics of ice and snow sports and pooling the experience of sports injury experts. Meanwhile, the "Intelligent Expert Recommendation System" completed real-time recommendations based on principles such as proximity. These scientific and technological achievements assisted the rescue personnel on site in saving lives in the first instance and ultimately completed the transportation of the injured athlete within the golden five minutes.

After watching the drill, the leaders and experts fully affirmed and recognized the project's outcomes, and offered many valuable suggestions and expectations. They hope that through the deep integration of the Science and Technology Winter Olympics projects, a Winter Olympic event with a strong technological element can be created.

The successful completion of the medical support drill for the test event fully demonstrates that the project development team, led by Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University and consisting of units such as Beijing Futong Dongfang Technology Co., Ltd., is a professional and efficient team. The team is committed to providing service and support for the Winter Olympics with a spirit of craftsmanship.

Dr. Rui Rui Li, Chief Architect of Genesis AI Lab at Beijing Futong Dongfang Technology Co., Ltd. and Director of the Project Office, expressed on site: "In the future, we will accelerate the research and development and application of scientific and technological achievements, fully prepare for the winter Olympics' autumn test events and subsequent competitions, and light up the Winter Olympics with wisdom."

Serving The Winter Olympics With "AI Technology + Medical" To Contribute To The Grand Event

As an artificial intelligence technology enterprise, Futong Dongfang actively fulfills its corporate responsibility by leveraging the medical AI technology achievements of the Genesis AI Lab. Together with various participating units, they achieve technological integration and have jointly submitted a "report card" that satisfies the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee and related units during this test. After the test, Futong Dongfang carefully summarizes the experience and continues to strengthen its investment in scientific and technological research and development. We are fully committed to providing smart medical services for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics, contributing to hosting a brilliant, extraordinary, and outstanding Olympic event.

In the future, Futong Dongfang will actively respond to the concept of "Science and Technology Winter Olympics" and promote the application of the scientific research achievement "Key Technologies for Smart Medical Support at the Winter Olympics" in various aspects, including assisting local health system emergency response, medical institution tiered diagnosis and treatment, pre-hospital screening, and auxiliary decision-making for medical technicians. The aim is to establish an intelligent medical ecosystem that connects the government, hospitals, and patients.

On the other hand, the research achievements in this instance, which include "sports injury diagnosis based on deep learning technology (covering complex injuries to various parts such as the brain, maxillofacial, bones, internal organs, and eyes)," will also be integrated into Futong Dongfang's personal health management products. By enabling self-identification of injury conditions, it allows patients to seek precise medical treatment. It is hoped that the technological innovations resulting from the Winter Olympics can benefit every individual in need during the digital age.
