In May 2020, Futong established its AI Lab South Center in Chengdu, following the establishment of the AI Lab Beijing Center in 2018. It signifies the official establishment of Futong's dual-engine technology R&D structure for AI Labs, aiming to advance the application of cutting-edge AI technology in the medical field. Futong AI Lab South Center Established, Cementing Dual-Engine R&D Framework for AI Science

 

Futong AI Lab Beijing Center, established in 2018, is dedicated to exploring the deep integration of healthcare with AI. It has initiated research and development in frontier areas such as medical knowledge graphs, natural language processing technology, and deep learning. The center is committed to exploring cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies and their practical application, aiming to create greater value for clients.

 

The establishment of Futong's AI Lab in Chengdu, based on AI+5G+Internet of Things, focuses on application scenarios in smart healthcare and smart wellness. It concentrates on technological research in deep learning models and algorithms of AI, computer vision, and big data analysis. This initiative aims to form innovative applications, standardized services, and product application solutions in the fields of personalized precision medicine, smart medical services, telemedicine, clinical auxiliary diagnosis and treatment, and optimization of hospital management. Additionally, it seeks to establish intellectual property rights.

 

Chengdu AI Lab Appoints Dr. Tang Yong As Chief Scientist

 

The Chengdu AI Lab will be led by Dr. Tang Yong, who has extensive experience in both basic theoretical research and practical applications, as the Chief Scientist.

 

Dr. Tang Yong graduated from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and has taught at the School of Economics and Management and the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. With a composite background in management and technology, he mainly engages in research on AI, big data, and industry informatization. He has published dozens of academic papers and has led and participated in numerous national and provincial research projects as well as corporate R&D projects. Dr. Tang has over a decade of experience in corporate cooperation and has presided over and implemented several large and medium-sized informatization construction projects for enterprises. He is one of the earliest experts in the development of medical imaging technology in China.

 

Futong AI Lab's Dual Centers in North and South Accelerate the Transformation of AI Cutting-Edge Theories into Practical Results

 

Futong AI Lab's dual centers in the north and south, in collaboration with doctoral and master's students from renowned universities such as Tsinghua University and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, have formed an AI product development and technical research team. Together with experts from institutions including the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Zhuhai Fudan Innovation Research Institute, Tongji University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Sichuan University, National Clinical Research Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, and Xijing Hospital, they have established an "industry-academia-research-innovation" ecosystem partnership.

 

At the same time, Futong undertakes key research and development projects of the national level, leveraging the advantages of industry-university-research collaboration to achieve the transformation and development of outcomes. In the field of artificial intelligence + healthcare, they construct medical knowledge graphs, research AI algorithms, and build a pool of industry business models. They are also gradually expanding the capabilities of ML and neural networks in the medical industry applications.

 

Currently, the AI Lab team has grown to dozens of members.
